AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

 

 

Course Learning Objectives

 

 

By the completion of the course the students should be able to:

Review water properties and the Hydrostatic pressure and Forces on Plane and Curved Surfaces Concepts.

Review the concepts of buoyancy and Flotation and their applications in Civil Engineering Field.

3

Study the pipe flow types and characteristics and review the flow governing equations

4

Compute energy losses in pipes

5

Design and analyze in pipelines system.

6

Use computer model (EPANET) to design and analyze water distribution systems.

7

Identify and select different types of pumps .

8

Learn about cavitation phenomenon and design water systems to avoid cavitation.

9

Study, Analyze and Design the uniform flow in different types of open channels.

10

Study the hydraulic jump and its applications in open channel.

11

Identify, Study and Compute the water surface profiles for GVF.

12

Review the flow measurements methods in pipes and open channel flow

13

Study, understand the principle of hydraulic similitude

14

Study, Analyze and Design of Stormwater network
